Mr Daniel Kofi Adjei, Project Manager at Regimanuel Gray Ltd (RGL), was adjudged the Overall Best Farmer for Kpone-Katamanso at this year’s Farmers’ Day Awards for Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly (KKMA).
The celebration was on the general theme “Planting for Food and Jobs – consolidating Food Systems in Ghana. In all, the KKMA honoured eleven (11) farmers, of various categories, to mark the 2021 Farmers’ Day Celebration held at the Gbetsile Town Park near Kpone in Greater Accra.
Mr Kofi Adjei received a Tricycle, Wellington Boots, sis (6) litres of insecticides, three (3) knapsack sprayers, bags of fertilizer, wheelbarrow, wheat bran, veronica bucket, ten (10) pieces of cutlass, wax print, a pack of fruit juice, a bag of salt and other assorted items.
In an interaction with the media, after the event, Mr Kof Adjei expressed gratitude to the municipality and to his team of workers, whose hard work and dedication culminated in this recognition.
“I am highly motivated and inspired by this award. I receive it not only for myself but for all the hard-working farmers in the municipality. May this recognition motivate us to keep pressing on, ” he said.
He appealed to the Agricultural Department of the municipality to help with the development of skilled labour for the industry and curb other challenges such as high labour rates, unavailability of fertilizer, armyworm infestation, lack of controlled pricing among others.
Mr Kofi Adjei has worked with Regimanuel Gray for over 15 years in various capacities. Since he joined the RGL team, he has been valuable to the success of many projects as well as the reengineering of many processes in the Company. He currently heads Project Management with his most recent project being the Regimanuel Gray new territory at Katamanso. The RGL team is proud to have him as a team member and extends a heartfelt congratulations to him.
